Bought for a JRT for upcoming canoe trip. He's 9kg, 51cm chest, 30cm neck, 38cm body, a short legged, long and stocky dog. We bought the small size and it fits well around his neck and under his chest but could do with being a CM or 2 longer in the body length but for the price it's great value and we know he's an unusual size. A medium would have swomped him. Tryed it in a local lake, see pictures and video, and it worked well. Allowed him to swim naturally but adds enough buoyancy to assist if needed. While he could always swim it adds peice of mind that if we capsize or he jumps out he's not going to drown through exhaustion. It has a strong wide Velcro fastening under his body with 2 adjustable clips to secure it. There is also a Velcro strap round his neck which is backed up with an adjustable clip too. Jacket has handle on top to lift him out water and a ring to clip a lead/line to reel him in. It's bright and reflective so we'll never loose him either.
Small/medium for a 7.5kg Boston terrier. Great item. Dog came out of the boat 2x in white water and she was able to float down river and then swim safely to shore both times. Very grateful for this purchase. Also looks quite smart, super visible and was comfortable in it, loath to take it off. 😀Size:small/medium
Good quality. Fits as described and measured. Easy to put on dog and he was quite happy playing on the beach in it. The yellow really stands out for visibility and top handle is an additional safety feature. Worth the money. Feels safe and secure for our little dog who likes running off into the sea without preventing him playing and digging and running around.

Excellent product for the price. I've not tested longevity yet but it seems robust. I've examined it and stitching looks good. They include an extra bit of velcro to put over the exposed velcro at the chest strap, which is thoughtful. There's velcro AND straps, so double security and the fit is good and easy to do.It is a little bulky on the neck/chest for a staffy as she hasn't got much of a neck, so I thought she'd be a bit nervous of having it on. Once she realised what it does though there was no stopping her!!! She loves it. She did need hauling out at one point and the handle was very useful. I definitely feel confident letting her come in a boat with us now. Generally she just sinks like a hippogriff in deep water - staff types are not swimmers!Definitely a great product. Dried fast in the sunshine too.
Bought for my border terrier..she is 9.4kg and I measured her as directed and chose the small. It was a good fit. We love the style and colour. She got lots of admiring comments on the dog friendly beach.She does not like getting wet with the exception of bathtimes and walks around a puddle! The jacket is great. We had 1 day of using at a dog friendly beach and found carrying her out and letting her swim back a short distance to the shore a good call. We can build on what we've started and she did so well with it on. More swim dates to follow. Thank you!
